Written Verification of Employment Mortgage Options
Written Verification of Employment (WVOE) is an income-documentation approach available in some mortgage programs. LendEase can help eligible borrowers ask whether a lender accepts this method and what additional application requirements apply.
What does employment verification involve?
The lender specifies the information and verification process required from an acceptable employer source. Ask which employment history, compensation details and supporting records are needed. A written verification is not permission to report unsupported employment or income information.
What should I prepare for our conversation?
- Whether the program accepts your employment and compensation type.
- Who must provide the verification and how it will be checked.
- Any additional records, credit, down payment and reserve requirements.
How should I compare my options?
WVOE and W-2-only approaches are different. Tell us which employment records you have so we can discuss the relevant lender options rather than treating the two methods as interchangeable.
Confirm whether the program fits a primary residence, second home or eligible investment property. Availability depends on the lender and transaction. A documentation option does not remove the requirement for accurate information, borrower qualification or underwriting approval.
Subject to lender guidelines, borrower eligibility, property requirements and underwriting approval. Program availability and documentation requirements vary.
