ITIN Mortgage Options for Homebuyers
LendEase helps eligible buyers explore mortgage programs that accept an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). An ITIN is one part of an application; the lender still determines eligibility for the borrower, property and intended occupancy.
What should an ITIN buyer confirm?
Ask which identification and status documents the lender accepts, what credit history can be considered and how income must be documented. An ITIN program is not automatically a no-income-verification program. Do not assume the terms of a foreign-national mortgage are identical to those of an ITIN mortgage.
What should I prepare for our conversation?
- The identification documents and ITIN records accepted for the application.
- Your available credit history and documents supporting your earnings.
- The down payment, reserves and property use required for the chosen program.
How should I compare my options?
Tell LendEase whether you are buying a primary home and which income records are available. We can discuss the lender options without assuming that an identification number alone establishes approval.
Confirm whether the program fits a primary residence, second home or eligible investment property. Availability depends on the lender and transaction. A documentation option does not remove the requirement for accurate information, borrower qualification or underwriting approval.
Subject to lender guidelines, borrower eligibility, property requirements and underwriting approval. Program availability and documentation requirements vary.
